E0009 Formatting Tapes During Backup

Hi All:
I'm using:

ArcServe for Netware 7.0 (latest patches)
Netware 6.0 sp2
HP DLT1 Tape Drive on Adaptec 2940uw2 SCSI Card

I just installed a second SCSI Card w/ a LTO drive off of it. That one is woring fine (after a little fighting)

My problem now is that the DLT drive will NOT format a tape from a back-up job.
Formatting from Device Manager works fine. I can back-up the drive fine as well, as long as do an append to media.

Here is the error from Tape$Log:

Only thing I found on CA's site was:

Which doesn't seem to apply to my set-up.
