E-Mail will not Delete from Inside

I have a user that can only delete an e-mail from the Inbox. I she tries to delete an e-mail from inside after reading it, it tells her that she can not perform that operation. So she ends out of the e-mail, marks it for deletion, and it deletes with no problem.
We're using 6.5.2 version, on Windows 2000 client.

It appears you can't delete an open e-mail if you are in it.

Correct.....the user reads an e-mail, then attempts to delete while still in the e-mail, can't, then ends out of the e-mail, puts a check mark on the left side, hits the F9 and it deletes.

It's an "undocumented feature" when using the preview pane. If the user turns off the preview pane, or goes to any other document than that which is viewing in the preview pane, then it should work okay.

Thank you very much for your help. I sent the information to the user, via voicemail and e-mail, and as soon as I hear back I'll let you know. The user is in another building, at another location.

Actually, when I select 'DELETE' for an email which I am just reading - which is a very valid action - it is marked for deletion and the next email is opened.
For final deletion one has to use F9.

I mean I cannot finally delete it, but it is marked for deletion.
That's what I expect it to work as well. It goes into the trash but the trash itself is emtied on request thus allowing to fetch documents back

Same applys for the preview pane, so I dunno what the others keep telling it is not there ...
