I am looking for a way to have my iPAQ 1940 sync e-mail messages with my desktop, but only in the following ways:
- If I write an e-mail on the iPAQ and sync, it will be sent to the desktop, and then to the intended recipient
- NONE of the messages on my desktop computer will be sync'ed with the iPAQ.

Basically, I want the outgoing e-mails on my iPAQ to be sent, but no other messages synchronized. Way back in the dim and misty when I was using a Palm device, I could set it up in this fashion. I have been unable to find how to do it with ActiveSync 3.7 however.

Any help would be appreciated

I am not at home to verify this, so bare with me.

With you PPC synced, goto the option on the ActiveSync window. Select the Inbox and then click the Settings button to see if there are any options available to do what you are after.

If not, then I doubt that there will be away to do so. Post back and let me know, otherwise I will look when I get home.

I checked this area earlier. It looks like the 'Deleted Items', 'Drafts', 'Inbox', 'Outbox' and 'Sent Items' folders are all sync'ed automatically (no way to de-select them that I can see).

I thought that might be the case. I don't think that there is even a third-party app that would do what you are asking.

BOBTHEMAD,

Have you had any luck sending messages from your Ipaq? I am experiencing similar issues of messages being sent to my outbox and never being sent. I receive an error when attempting a send/receive:

Imap: an unknown error 800c0057 occurred

Authentication when sending is not the issue. Any ideas or solutions? Thanks in advance.

I have had no problems sending mail from my iPAQ. The issue I was asking about was that if I turn on e-mail sync, I end up having a lot of messages from my inbox uploaded to my iPAQ, and I do not want that.
