We are using Groupwise 5.5 and in the last few months have been having problems with some e-mails coming from the internet. (Since we've had groupwise, e-mails external to our company always come in with an attachment "mime.822". Many others have "Part.001". Not sure if this is relevant, but wanted to include it just in case.)

In some of the external e-mails you can not see any text, just the subject line. However, if you open these attachments, you can find the message there. Other external e-mails have a message, but if you try to print or forward the message, it's gone. Other external e-mails come through fine.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

From doing research on the web we found that this issue in our case pointed to digital signatures on the incoming mail. This is fixed in GroupWise 6.

For the Part.001:
If the e-mail is coming from Microsoft Exchange/Outlook system... it is possible that they are using "Rich Text Format". The sender will have to changed to Plain Text.

Hpe, this helps!
