I am just wondering if Merlin Magix has a capability to send e-mail if there is a voice-mail. If yes then how can I do it. I am a data guy and don't know much about voice. So, please excuse me for basic questions.

The answer is yes, if you have all the right stuff.

REQUIREMENTS:

Magix R3.0 and above
Merlin Messaging R3.0 and above
Microsoft Exchange Server

All of the above and some software you can download from the AVAYA website should get you going.

I checked and we have MERLIN MESSAGING Release 1.1.8. Do we need to upgrade just this software or anything else as well. If we have to upgrade then which version we should go for which can provide the e-mail capability. what would be the cost of the SW because my company don't want to spend too much.

Also, if you can provide some hints how to upgrade the SW that would be great.

Thanks in Advance
Roomi

The R1.1 cannot be upgraded to that capability. I believe you need at least R2.5 or higher.

You do need a R2.5 or higher messaging in order to upgrade to either R3.0 or R4.0. You would need a new messaging module to get this feature.

Does it mean we have to buy just the Messaging module with SW R4.0? Do you know where we can get it?

It would probably be easier to purchase an R4 Avaya Merlin Messaging than try to pin down the software (something that is not really available to the general public) and go through the upgrade procedure.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
