Store based journaling.
Look at the properties of your mailbox databases and it's in there.
Normally you'd create a separate storage group with circular logging to contain the journal mailbox then use a 3rd party tool like Enterprise Vault to pull the mail out.
Not all 3rd party solutions use journaling. Only those that haven't figured out a better way. Store based journaling doesn't get all info, and it introduces a tremendous amount of I/O. Still, it's really the only free way to do it, assuming your storage can handle the increase. But you have to come up with a plan to deal with the ever-growing jounal mailboxes.
