E&M TRUNKS with DID's

0x32 with T-1 card. 6 trunks configured as E&M ,winkstart,B8ZS,ESF. Customer has DID's. Is there a problem with this configuration. Should I configure some of the trunks as DID or is there another way? I am have some problems with calls going to general delivery instead of the designated phone.


 
When T1 channels are allocated for DID they should be configured as auto answer.

Sets with DID (target) lines should have at least 2 intercom paths.

The prime set for each target line should be the DN where the target line appears &/or rings.

Thanks for your input, all channels are set up E&M, there are none allocated for DID. Have you had any issues with it set up this way: 6 channels set up E&M with DID's. Should I set up a couple of channels for DID so that target lines will work? I have it working with all channels set up as E&M, but it's not consistent, sometimes calls go to the general delivery mailbox!
 
Channels should be set up as provider specifies. E&M is pretty standard for T1 channels. The channels that are receiving DID should be set to auto answer. No need to specify as DID in trunk programming. Target line programming will route the calls to the intended DN. Possibly digits are being received that don't correspond to an existing target line, so the call is being routed to the GD mailbox.

What release is your 0x32 and which voicemail do you have installed?

0x32 is 6.0 with a callpilot 100/150. It's almost as if the 0x32 isn't sure where too send the digits received, since there is no channel specified for DID. Like on PRI, you have 23 channels to receive digits. I'm having the provider install 2 more channels so that I can set them up as DID on the 0x32 and see if that helps.

Twice EXSmogger has said to make sure that your trunks are set to AUTOANSWER. Are they? He is absolutely correct. If they are not, then you will get the results you are citing here.

 
also, YOU DO NOT NEED TO SET ANY TRUNKS AS DID, E&M ARE ONE AND THE SAME. Sorry for yelling. Also make sure wink start vs. immediate is correct.

It is CRITICAL that auto-answer is enabled.

Like everyone else said E&M will work fine as long as the trunks are set to AUTO ANSWER. One other thing you can check is where the Target line Primes out to if the set is busy. (if busy to ???)Just a thought good luck.
