Dynamics Homepage Updates Slowly

Our site is getting terribly long response times in Dynamics V9 when the Homepage function is creating its view on the initial user signon.

It is taking about 5-10 minutes to create the Homepage on signon and also when changing the Role from one view to another.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this condition.

Yes we were experiencing this too.

When the homepage is set to display and Metrics are enabled, took far too long given we have a 20Gb database.

The choice was to remove the Metric display from all users home pages (using SQL script on the SY8000 and SY8100 tables in DYNAMICS). I run this script immediately after creating a new user as well. Users are given access to the modified homepage setup window, which removes the ability to turn on/off the metrics panel.

You will also find that if the homepage is set to refresh (each hour), your client will find the system sluggish when it goes to re-generate the data supporting the Metrics.
