Is it possible DynamicBackColor in report Detail Band ?

Best Regards.

I usually put 2 shapes with box color, alternate color over the entire record.

and the print when for each is mod(recno(),1) = 0 or mod(recno(),2) = 0 for odd/even

so, on even, 1 color prints and if the recno() is odd, i print the odd shape

A Report Form does not have DynamicBackColor 'properties' available for the Objects.

BUT, as Ali indicated above, using the PrintWhen expression on a Report Form's textbox and over-laying multiple textboxes, you can accomplish the same thing.

Good Luck,

In VFP 9 SP2, you can use the new Dynamics tab to specify different formatting for different conditions. Just be sure to SET REPORTBEHAVIOR 90 when running the report.

Today, I tried TamarGranor advice, it works, but I found report running with console=off by default.

I found report running with console=off by default.

Isn't that what you want? It's the normal behaviour.

If you are using a report listener, output does not normally go to the console. If you want it to, you have to set the relevant property in the Report Listener's CommandClauses object.

If you are not using a report listener, and you want output to go to the console, check that you haven't got either NOCONSOLE or OFF in your REPORT FORM command. Failing that, try setting SET CONSOLE ON just before you start the report, and set it OFF just after.

But I'm still curious to know why you would want it.

Because I use my own preview. Nothing wrong with provided preview. Only thing is I can not customize preview toolbar the way I want.

Thanks you, Please give me time to learn your advices.

I can understand why you don't like the built-in preview. I rarely use it myself. But I'm not convinced that writing to the console is a good alternative. Take at look at this article for some other solutions: Taming the Visual FoxPro report preview window.

Take as long as you like. But feel free to ask for advice here as well.
