Dynamically resize a datawindow group band?

I need to resize the group band based on the height of 2 retrieved columns that are in the group band header. I would like it to behave like the "Autosize Height" option in the detail band. The unfortunate part of this problem is I only have access to the dw, not to the underlying code. (3rd party product!)

It is interesting that you can turn on the "Autosize Height" option on the columns but not the band itself. They expand but are truncated at the group band! Things that make you say, "Hmmmmm".
