In my office we use conference bridges all the time and we had 3 set up in what I would refere to as a "standard configuration".
This was all fine and dandy until we started overlapping when calls would go over or people would not reserve a bridge etc. So I decided that I would figure out a way that would allow for more conference bridges without adding more work for us maintaining them. This is what I came up with and I thought I would share in case anyone else has run into the need for lots of small bridges.
First the notes:
1. Incoming Call Route to Short Code > Voicemail Node #CnfBridge.
2. Additional Short Code (*75N) Conference Meet Me for creating the bridge.
3. Call Flow Variable (CPxx) - will make sense if you look at the screen shots
Voicemail Short Code (workflow path)
1. Test for Valid Extension Number using Test Variable
2. Set call variable to previously validated EXT (I used CP15 in mine)
3. Test for Password (Specific match)
4. Transfer call to Short Code (*75$CP15)
This will create a conference call with the name of the extension used above, Conf 2024 for example.
This allows us to have a whole bunch of small conference calls and the only thing we need to maintain is the password which we can change once a week/month whatever...
Please see the screenshots from the link below for more information.
I hope someone finds this useful.
