Dynamically Building Embedded Views

I have a dept. form with an embedded view that shows projects done for that dept. Is it possible, that when a dept. record is brought up, the embedded view will only show projects done for that project? (e.g. If I bring up the accounting record the view will only show projects done for accounting and if bring up the finance record it will only show projects for finance and so forth)
