Dynamic Universe Connections

Hi all,

We have several users in the database and would like to use their login info when connecting to the database thru BO (Universe connection).Is is possible to use their userid and pwd dynamically for universe connection on BO server instead of using 1 generic userid for universe connection for all the users.

Sure. There is a check box that lets you pass the BO id and password to the database.

The problem is that this applies do all users using the connection. You'll have to have alternate connections for different users. This can be done in Supervisor.

You mean to say that i need one connection for every user ?
If yes ,can't one connection be shared by all users with their login parameters ?

Yes, one connection can be shared by all users. What I'm saying is that you can't have 1 connection do specific ids and also a generic one.

If you need both levels of functionality, then you'll need 2 connections.
