In response to a recent post about dynamically formatting text, I thought it might be cool to include some usability features around dynamic textfields as standard. Here's a demo - I think I'll tinker a little more with it, but the essence is there.

Let me know what you think!

I need to be able to display the &quot;<&quot; in an html formated text pulled from a text file. How would you go about it? Regards,

I see you have a < fixation. You might want to see a shrink about that :)

Sheesssssssssssssssssh!

Here's one for you! Only 399 to go! Regards,

Just in case you're still fixated on that <, see the original post. You really had me chasing my tail for a couple of hours there :)

But seriously... I'm not fooling around!

I'm looking for a way to display actual colored html tags in a textfield with a text loaded from a text file. Something like the following:

THIS TEXT FILE WAS LOADED FROM MY TEST.TXT FILE.
The bold text above was obtained by using the <b> tag at the beginning of the line and the </b> at the end of it.
To center your text in the textfield you would use the following tag: <p align='center'>.
To change the font color to blue you would use the following tag: <font color='#0000FF'>.
ETC... ETC...

Do you now get the idea? It displays fine here, but I simply can't get it to work in Flash. I'm I the only one incapable of displaying the &quot;<&quot; character when already using an html formated text loaded from a text file. Regards,

Sounds interesting - the coloured tags thing. What's it for?
