Dynamic text field and still use as a mask?

Hi, once again I got some problem with textfields ;-)

I made a textfield which gets its conent out of a textfile. That works fine, but if I use the layer with the field on it as a mask (for having a fade-out effect at the edges) it doesnt work anymore.
So anyone knows how I can load the content from the textfile while still having the layer used as a mask?

Or has anyone a better way to create a fade away effect?

Mabey if you put the text field in a movie clip, and load the variables from inside the movie clip, it might work. I haven't tried it (not too familiar with masking), but it looks like it might work.

Under a mask or in a tween, font must be embedded.
