I am having a hell of a time with dynamic text boxes.

I am trying to load a list of links from a text file into a text box. This is no problem, very straight foward.

The problem I am having is that the box needs to be masked and I cannot get the text box to work with both HTML checked and the font outlines [...] button selected.

Anyone have a work around?

hi gags

can you post a link to your fla or e-mail it to me and I'll have a closer look?

I can get this to work no problem gag.

ie: dynamic text field, with HTML and [ignore][..][/ignore] checked on one layer, mask layer above with rectangle over the text field.

I too have had the strangest problems with calling html pages into flash. The initial part's pretty easy, but for some reason, the text itself appears over everything else in the movie. I'll have scroll buttons over to the side and they will be "higher up" than the text file, but the text always shows up over the buttons if it overlaps at all, but the container holding the text doesn't! Strange, indeed.

I have been so busy I forgot about this posting. We came up with a work around but, Dave, did you really get this work?

It would be very helpful for dynamic content to load in from a database to actually be HTML for the next query etc.

Obviously most of the time you would need to mask it.

I must try again - I still don't know if I love or hate Flash!
