Dynamic Sub-Menu Item issue

I am trying to create a simple web site using the WebControl.Menu tool.
I created a Menu using the Menu Editor. I have several sub-menus that are dynamic.
When I run the site, if there is anything to the right of the menu, such as text or images, the sub-menu item seems transparent or goes behind the text and or image.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening? There doesn't seem to be a simple setting in the propeties to fix this.
