Hi,

I'm using CR XI, specifically 11.0.0.2495, database is SQL 2000

I'm trying to create a dynamic parameter, after I build it I'm expecting to see a dropdown list with all the records from the command to choose from with a scroll bar to navigate.

But all I'm getting is about the first 20 or so records and no scroll bar. If I make it a regular parameter and type in records that are not showing in the dynamic parameter the report runs, so I know that the records are available.

The SQL in the command gives me all the records I'm expecting if I run it in query analyzer or as a view or a pass through in access.

What should I check next? Or do dynamic parameters not work or work differently with commands?

Thank you for your help

This should work fine and display up to 1000 values. However, if this is a cascading parameter, then you might be seeing only 20 values in the first of two parameters, because the combination of 1st and 2nd level parameters would exceed the 1000 limit if all values of the 1st level parameter were allowed in.

Thank you. I don't think it's a cascading parameter, if it is it wasn't on purpose.

The other parameters are start and end dates, and they are just set up as data type date in the parameter.

could it have anything to do with the report being all from a command? Its got several tables, but its just selects, nothing fancy. One of the tables in the command is really huge and cumbersome though.

If you want to, post the command--it might help.

Hi,

I ended up rewriting the command and it worked.

Thank you for your help.
