dynamic parameter not showing all values

I have a dynamic parameter that should be showing all "companies" from a database, so that the user can select a specific company to report on.
1. Not all the companies are showing up on this list. Is it limited to a given number? Can I change it?
2. Is there a way to filter companies on this list, say only those that are in a geographic location or that are flagged as a "customer"?
3. Is there a way to filter the displayed list based on what the user types in? Meaning, if the user types in the beginning of a company name, the list will shorten and disaplay only those companies that begin with this?
