hi

I've a formula in my report, I need to select on the results of the formula like a dynamic parameter by starting the report. I know this is standard not possible, because the formula is just not validated. But stil it is necessary. Which trick can I use for this issue?

(the report shows in a formula the number of days that a call of the suportdesk is open: current date-start date. For example, the manager want's to see the open calls older then 10 days)

regards
Dan

If all you want is to filter the report based on the result of a formula, use the Record Selection formula (Report, Selection Formula, Record).

If what you want is more complex, it would help if you explain what the user should see in each step.

hi Ido

I want to give a max of days before I start up the report. the manager don't have CR on his system but work with a viewer in his ERP system where he the possibility has to select paramaters before running the report.
So he only want to see, for axample, the calls older then 10 days on the name of mister Jones.

You would need to use another 3rd-party viewer to achieve this. See list of such viewers at:
One of them allows you to embed another Crystal report inside a parameter dialog. In your case, you would probably have a cascade where one parameter report would allow you to select the customer, another parameter report would show the maximum number of days for that customer and allow you to enter the desired number of days as the value for the parameter, and finally the report will display for that customer and that number of days.
