To do this you can allow or restrict the workstation in the Standard User Package under the Dynamic User properties - Dynamic Local User - Login Restrictions
You may not be able to add Workstation Groups to the restriction list, but you CAN add containers. So as long as the approved workstations are in one container and the unapproved workstations are in another, you can save your self an administration head ache.
And yes, you can move workstations to a new container with out re-registering the PC. Just move the object and reboot the PC. As long as you have good name resolution and your tree is healthy, the workstation will update it's self with the new object location.

Brent - I seem to be having a problem with this. When I select Enable Login Restrictions I am unable to login with DLC. No matter what/how I list the workstations (group or individually). If I uncheck the box everything works fine.
As it turns out this was only happening with certain workstations. There is a workaround and supposedly eDirectory 8.8sp3 fixes this. I am at 8.7.3 and did a repair as the article suggested but that didn't help...here are the links:
