I am presently taking a technology course for teacher recertification that is using FrontPage. I am having trouble in that when I place a code for a dynamic HTML that is not included in their program, it does not show up on my page. I wanted a trailing curser and the cirlce in effect. I found the codes and placed them in my HTML, but they do not show up. Is there a conflict with FrontPage and the codes? How can this problem be resolved?

I have used this same code using a different program and it works on my website. Is it that Front Page is not compatible with other systems?

Frontpage is compatible with one thing: Microsoft Products. Unless the server you are using has all the pretty space hogging front page extensions installed.

Advice? Don't use frontpage. ;-)

Dreamweaver is a much better product, and you can get a trial version (fully functional) from Macromedia's website. Also, if you're in school, just run on down to your bookstore for a deeply discounted version (also fully functional).

If you wish, you can also check into Allaire's Homesite. Not quite as user friendly, but equally powerful. The list goes on and on, and I would suggest just about any product (even jaredn's notepad) over FP.

good luck! :)

I agree. I have earned my scars with FrontPage both as a developer and an IIS admin.

Dreamweaver should be the only thing you will ever need if you really need to spend money to write html (among other things).

If you feel hardcore, go with something like Editpad Classic. Notepad on amino acids. ;)
