What do I need to ask BT (UK) for letting me pass the CLI from one trunk to another. I will be connecting BRI channels to 3300CXi running latest load.

Main reason is for being able to see CLI on mobile phones when using Dynamic Extension.

I appreciate your comments/help.

Daniel

I'm not sure if BT even alow this Daniel to be honest. They will only allow you to present a CLI to line that is part of your BRI DDI range.
No harm in trying, not sure exactly what you would ask for just say you want to pass incomming CLI back out to line.

thank you Bob, look what they said:

"With regards to the CLI unfortunately BT are not able to offer that. What you would see is the CLI of the switch number on the mobiles when they ring, not the number calling into the switch itself.

Yeah thats sounds about right. So what they are saying is that you would see the CLI of your ISDN circuit calling the mobile and not the callers CLI. Unfortunatley this is a feature designed for other parts of the world and not the UK. We have Dynamic Ext setup at the moment but we see our main CLI and not the callers when it rings the mobile.
One other gripe I had with it was I was unable to use CPN substitution on my EHDU's number so that it gives out my personal DDI as CLI when calling my mobile via dymaic extension. If you log in and make a call from my EHDU it gives out my personal CLI but when someone calls my DDI and my mobile rings I get the base circuit CLI and not my personal CLI so I don't know if the call is someone ringing me from the office or dynamic ext ringing me.

Thank you Bob!!

As you said that's dessigned for other part of the world.

Regards,

Daniel

Some Telco's allow Non-Resident CLI's to be passed thru if you sign papers absolving them of responsibility of 911. In my area (Alberta, Canada) I have 2 Telco Choices. Bell and Telus. Bell typically allows CLI passthru by default. Telus will typically only allow CLI (outbound) of numbers that are terminated inbound to the system. I was recently able to get Telus to change this setting for one of my customers for the purpose of CLI on a mobile extension user. When I get to work on Monday, Ill try and see what the exact terminology that Tekus was using to Block/Unblock this feature.

The feature was called DN screening and had to be turned off.
