I'm having problems creating dynamic distributions lists.

Once I create the list, it does not show up in GAL in Outlook 2007 or 2003.

The AD shows the object but it looks like an unknown file type. Is this ok?

What's more important, how do I get it to show up in the address list?

More than a week :)

I read somewhere that it one needs to make some changes to schema or something like that?

I've deleted the list and recreated it and made other ones but they still don't show up.

Nope - schema changes don't take place when you create a dynamic DL.

If you create on, then do a PREVIEW of the GAL (click the Preview button), do they show up there?

yes, everything does.

i can even send to the address and it works

it just doesn't show up in the GAL

If they show up in the preview, and you've waited one day for the OAB to be built, and another day to make sure it's downloaded to the client, and it's not visible, then you might need to call PSS. By default, everything should be visible in the GAL, unless they're hidden from the GAL (the checkbox is checked). I'm not aware of the checkbox being checked by default for anything. Since it shows in the preview, it's not likely that.

Have you checked from OWA? Is your Outlook client in cached mode? If so, set it to uncached and see if it's visible.

Yeah, its not hidden thats the first thing i checked.

My client is not cached and it does not show up in OWA.

Maybe im confused by what you mean by preview. You mean, on the properites of the list, there is a tab with a preview button which will show you all the users in the list, correct?

If you get the properties of the Global Address List on the server, and whack the preview button, you should see your dynamic DL there.

Can you point me to where that is at on the server?
