Is it possible that someone can be a member of multiple dyanamic distribution groups in Exchange 2007? e.g a manager wants to be in the sales, finance, client services but not IT? If so, where would you sent the item to query for this?

Many thanks in advance

Absolutely. A DDG is nothing more than a filter, such as "all users in the OU called Finance" or "all users with City set to Seattle".

But if you already have a security group for those departments, better to just mail enable them.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

DDGs are all well and good but actually static groups tend to exist in your org for most things. If your Sales group includes that manager, as Pat says, just mail enable it.
