I'm useing 18Gb SCSI dynamic (not basic)drives with Win2000 Server on them.
I want to mirror the the 18Gb to a 36Gb drive shut down and make the 36Gb drive the primary drive.

Then,(and here's the tricky part) I want to extend the 18Gb partition that was mirrored onto the 36Gb drive into a 36GB partition.

Does anyone know how to go about this.

Have you tried it and does it work?

I have no experience, nor tried this, but it won't hurt to try : use Norton Ghost or Powerquest drive image and see if you can copy the data off the 18 GB to the 36 GB drive.

make the 36 GB the active partition and see if you can boot of it (while the 18 GB is unplugged). after that, expanding to use the full 36 GB is no problem, nor adding the 18 GB too.

What's the configuration of your dynamic disk. Are you using software or hardware RAID?.

You don't need to expand if you clone HDD to HDD provided you're using FAT32 or NTFS. ex. 18 gb to 36 gb will yield 36 gb full capacity will all the data inside.
