Dynamic date range

Hi Guys,
I have a Date field lets say Birth date user selects a date range using Prompts(2003-01 to 2003-10) now i want to display people born in between above date range
2003-01 2003-02 2003-03 so on ..(it can be 2004-01)
2 5 6
YTD 2 7 13
User can select any date range Impromptu report should display only those months and YTd

Any ideas thanks in advance

I don't think I'm understanding your question correctly. All you need to do to get all people with their Birth dates between the prompted dates is to put the prompts in your filter.
If you want them grouped by Month, create a calculated field:
Number-To-String(Year(Birth Date)) || "-" || Number-To-String(Month(Birth Date)

If you need the months to be columns, make it a crosstab report.

If you need YTD totals, create a calculation of Year(Birth Date), then group on that column and do a count.
