Hi guys,

Firstly, I want to create dynamic reports using crystal reports which can be regularly altered according to date & client.Hence, the underlying SQL will need regular modification on dynamic variables. How do I do that?
Secondly, I want to control these report outputs using Oracle's Job function. Is it at all possible to trigger crystal reports via Oracle? If yes, How?

I appreciate all the help I get.
Thanks in advance.

Kingsley

Please post your version and edition of Crystal as the answer varies greatly based on the software involved, as one would expect with alomost every type of software implementation.

There are lots of 3rd party products for viewing/launching/scheduling, consider those as well as Crystal Enterprise.

Kingsley,

You would want to use "Parameters" to accomplish the "dynamic" reports you asked about.

Parameters are prompts that allow the user to supply values to the report. The report uses these values in record selection - thus changing the SQL to bring back the data the user wishes.

Check out the Crystal Reports Help files on how to do this - the help files are quite well written for Crystal Reports.

Cheers,

As far as the version is concerned, I am currently testing the Crystal Reports 11.We have the 30 day test version and my company is contemplating buying the developers edition if it suits our needs.
