Hi All,

I want to create dynamic block. My requirement is :during run time user will to select number of columns he want to QUERY in block (its like a reporting or query block)on te basis of selected columns i should be able to create SQL (whose number of columns will not fix) and from that SQL i should be able to show the information in data block.

I checked the data block creation using the stored procedure and i found that there also i should have fixed number of columns (record type) in ref cursor.

Any idea... or work around.. i am using Form 6i

Thanks in advance...

Select all the columns available and switch visibility on or off according to user requirements.

We've done something similar using stacked canvases. Every column is on its own canvas and we dynamically display and position the canvases according to a pick list of available columns. There is a core set of columns that cannot be switched off to make sure at least 1 is on display at all times.

thanks... I am working to make a BLOCk in the same style.... Anyhint for printing this result set. I also want to provide report (printable) for the same facility.

thanks in advance.
