i have data in sheet1 with a list of companies from A1:A300 and some more companies form A1:CY with a whole load of numbers in between. The numbers are between -1 and 1. how can I code it so that given a value, say 0.8, the spreadsheet will give me all the numbers above it in a seperate sheet together with the corresponding two companies.

thankyou

This is not clear.

You have a list in column A of Company Name

You have something in row 1?
Whats in B1:CY1?
Every row? Skip,

across row 1 I have company names starting at b1. Down column A I have stock names starting at A2. After working things out on a seperate sheet i calculate a number for the cell b2 . I then calculate a number for b3 etc etc . Now column b is filled. I do the same for column c, d etc etc till the matrix is full.....all these numbers are between -1 and 1. I need to be able to run a macro so that I can select all those above a certain number say .8 to be wrtten in another sheet with the information telling me which compnay and stock combination they came from.

So, for each Company, you calculate a value corresponding to each stock.

Why not put this data into a normalized data structure...

Company Stock Value

Then it become easy to analyse and produce greater than or less than data analysis.
