Thanks to Doug Rogier at Catalyst for this :
In 6.0(14) release Manager 8.0(14) has a bug related to the Direct to Voicemail shortcode.

The normal code is #xxxx | “#”N | Voicemail Collect.

In the current 8.0(14) Manager the first “ is removed resulting in #xxxx | #”N | Voicemail Collect.

The workaround is to create the code as #xxxx |“#”N | Dial.

Click OK on the form.

Then change the feature from Dial to Voicemail Collect.

Thanks, this is the second time this kind of issue has been introduced, btw User shortcodes still do not work correctly/as documented either, try a user sc of N , Dial , N , Line gp whatever :)

you might need it to be N; dial N line group

Doesn't make any difference, and in UK as we use dial delay count so doing that would mean ending dialling with a #, besides which it worked from day 1 until they boke it at the arse end of 4.2 :)

Mine is running again.
I had a bad disk in my server.
Still I hear one ticking once in a while.
Perhaps it is coming out of a sleep.
If I gave the time then I will upgrade my system and try it.

got the voicemail working again, problem with my router it assigned me a new IP address when I rebooted hahaha
Ok now to the problem

I use the shortcode
#xx
voicemail Collect
#N
line group whocares

and I can dial # and the extension number and leave messages directly into the voicemail without the " " at any spot have you tried it without them.
I have to say that I use R4.2 here at home but I think I did the same on all the systems I recently installed I just can't access the one I upgraded to see if it still works, the shortcode is still the same

It does indeed remove the " at the beginning :)

take both " out and try if it works

Westi, that is not possible.
Manager itself adds the quotes.
So when you enter #N then it will come back as "#N"
Although this bug is an old one.
I have seen this before.

That is probably because the docs have always said the short code should be

#"<USER NAME>"
NOT <USER NUMBER>

I believe when the 1st post was made about this short code using <USER NUMBER> I warned that Avaya might "FIX" it at some later date.

It looks like their SC correction routines are reading the documents and parsing accordingly.
