Hi, search was down and i tried the Google search and nothing came up.

I would like to use my HDTV as a monitor. The video card i have is an ATI Radeon 9200 with both VGA and DVI outputs.

The HDTV i have is a Samsung 30" HDTV - TXP3075WH. Not the newest, in fact I believe it's discontinued, but it's still pretty high end.

i bought a DVI-DVI cable and wired it up, only to see very choppy and/or grainy resolution.

Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks,
Jared

Find out the 'native' resolution of your TV and make sure that your PC's resolution is set to the same.

If that doesn't work, make sure you bought the right type of DVI cable. DVI can carry an analogue signal, a digital signal or both but not all cables (indeed not all outputs and inputs) can carry both. This Wikipedia page explains more about it and shows you how to tell whether your cables and connectors are analogue- or digital-capable.
