I recently set up a computer with WIN2000 for a friend. The system is an older one; Pentium 300,700 mhz. I had a Samsung SD-608 drive that I put into it. I loaded WINDVD as a decoder to handle the playing of video DVD's. My proble is any time I try to start a movie utilizing the decoder i receive a message that it cannot find WNASPI32.dll in any of the specified paths. I have checked the Microsoft site and can find no mathups to this file.
Wher does it come from? How can I install it? Is this a bad version of WINDVD?
Thanks for any help

This sounds like an ASPI driver mis-match. You don't specify which version of WinDVD you are using, but check to see if it is compatible with Win2000:
WinDVD4 is their current version (and the only one they now support), and it should work with Win2000.

What do you mean with a Pentium 300,700 mhz ?
Is it 300 or 700 mhz ?

If it is 300 mhz then you'll might not be able to watch dvd-movies on this system. The processor is really the absolute minimum for the power decoding requires.

I meant to say a Pentium 3, 700 mhz.
Based on Lanmass comment, I am going to try and run the sample download of WINDVD version 4. If it works then I will just have to line my friend to purchase it.
Thanks for the help.

Sometimes you can grab files off the internet. A simple search for that filename on google returns a lot of sites you can download that file from and try out.
