Hello,

I just installed a Kyphermedia DVD+RW drive today on a emachine computer.

BIOS see the drive. Windows recognizes the drive as DVD+RW. However If I put a data CD it does not show anything. If I put the same CD in my CD-ROM drive (in the same computer) I see the files on the CD.

When I put the cd in DVD+RW drive the light blink for about 30 seconds then it stops.

I don't get any error but it does not read the CD.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

Thanks

I have tried Music CD, DVD and data cd.

Music CD - Commerical
DVD - Commercial
Data CD - Burnt on my laptop using Roxio

It does not read any of the above.

Light blinks - machine knows the disc is there. Stops because the the drive is not being told to "do" something. Can you read the files (Windows Explorer) with the new drive? Is "autostart" turned on for that drive? Try a different IDE connection. Some drives want the same cable, some won't work if on the same cable. What happens if you unplug the data cable from the other CD drive?
