i have a dell inspiron 8000 Laptop with TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-C2502 but have problems witht eh dvd rom it says divice is working properly and everything looks good but it will not read any cd i'mm tryed DVD,CDR etc it just says no disk in drive..Any ideas what could be wrong?

It recognises you have it installed and that have the correct drivers (it says device is working properly) but it wont tell you if you have a dirty laser which in turn will not read a cd therefore thinking it hasnt got a disk inserted in the drive, sorry mate its time to clean the laser if you know how ( only qualified people should play with lasers ) or get a new cdr buddy.
