dvd rom

hi can anyone help :{.
my dvd rom will read and load a few games and will not read and load most which are new and have no scratches... i have checked the internal wires and all are connected.....when i put cd in it says insert the disk and cannot find it no matter how many times i re-try to load the game

Usually the first signs of a drive going bad but before you write it off, first use a good optical head cleaner (it could as simple as that)
