We have a Lite-On DVDRW LH-20A1P installed in our server which is running Server 2003.

The driver was updated yesterday, the Lite-on website includes DVD-RAM as one of the features available with this drive and the drive is listed as "DVD-RAM Drive (D:)" in "My Computer".

The problem is when I put a DVD RAM disk into the drive it is not recognized. When I try to open the drive I am told to insert media.

Is there a problem with DVD-RAM and Server 2003?
Do I have to mount the volume manually (can't find instructions in help)?

All help is appreciated.

Brad

The results I got from Googling "DVD-RAM and Server 2003" showed several folks with the same complaint, one person solved the problem by installing the driver & formatting the disc using "Windows XP compatibility mode". Another item I read said that W2K3 supports formatting DVD-RAM as FAT-32 only.

Forum931 might be a more fruitful forum.
