DVD-player region code...

I have a G3 powerbook with DVD drive. I have now changed the region code five times and I cant play my lates dvd because it has not the right region code...

Is it a way to reinstall dvd-software to start again, or is my dvd-drive set for ever? (as apple claims..)

Any solutions or relevant information to this problem?

In OS 9, there is a little app called 'DVDRegion Hack' - which you just run every 5 region changes to reset the DVD clock - I'm afraid I don't have it to hand, and I don't remember where I got it (I think someone sent it to me - it's only 50k) - maybe do a google search for it? Haven't found/looked for an OS X version.
