DVD Decoder?

Hey,
Quick backround of my story. I got a DVD media drive from a friend, No software just the drive. Looking for some decoder software so I can play movies on Media Player 9. Any suggestions would be great. Its a Hitachi DVD player, not sure of model number ATM!

The most common software programs are WinDVD and PowerDVD, both are good, you can just search on eBay and get a copy for next to nothing. (or atleast you used to, don't quote me on this).

These are stand-alone software packets; I almost want to say Media Player 9 has built-in dvd decoding capabilities, but then again, I don't really like media player enough to look into it. =)
