I recently transferred some home video to my computer and recorded the material on DVD disks. Seven DVD disks were required. The original recordings were to DVD+RW disks, then I made four copies of each disk on DVD+R disks. I prepared fancy labels using CD Stomper and applied these labels to the disks. About two weeks after making the original 4 copies, I needed to make an additional copy. I attempted to make the copy from one of the copies I originally made, but encountered read errors on four of the seven disks. Fortunately, I still have the DVD+RW disks, and was able to complete the copy from these disks.
I need to understand why the read errors occurred and how to avoid these in the future. Did applying labels to the DVDs contribute to the read errors? There were at least two brands of DVD+R media used, but with the labels on the disks, I cannot identify the brand(s) with the read errors. Any insight you can provide on this problem is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
