I have a new Toshiba satellite laptop with windows XP with a DVD ram drive.

The only software for writing to the drive seems to be a DVD Ram driver which allows drag/drop writing and changing of the contents, just like a floppy.

That works fine except when I want to share a disk... others can't read it even when they have dvd ram drive. My gut tells me I need to do something like "finalize disk", but I don't see that option anywhere... even when right click on the drive in windows exploer.

Any suggestions how I can create a disk readable by others?

i suppose u dont need to finalize disk, it sounds more like its running as a packrt writer like neros incd. when u want to share the medium the other pc needs the packet writing software to read it. usally, when u format a disk, u get the option to include the packet writing drivers on the disk, so its there when u wanne share it with somebody else, u just need to install it on the other pc.

could you not get a copy of roxio say ?
