DVD Burners in External USB 2.0 Enclosures?

Has anyone had success installing a DVD burner in an exteranal USB 2.0 enclosure? It would be nice to have this peripheral "portable." I am looking at the Plextor 708X drive.

At work we use a Freecom Traveller II DVD-RW that works great. USB just plugs in and Nero 6 recognizes it immediately.
