A cust. of ours needs to be able to set up remote call fwd & have the calls go to different locations depending on the time of day. Supposedly the Du Voice product can do this. I'm not familiar with this product at all. Does anyone know whether the Du Voice can do this?? Also, how easy is it to change the call routing in case of an emergency if the designated call fwd person can not answer the calls?? Thanks in advance.

Yes, the DuVoice can do this...it is a fabulous product.

There's basic notification via pager, cell phone, email and the like. But there's also capability to allow mailboxes to transfer to outside telephone numbers, which can be controlled by time of day.

You can administer DuVoice through your touchtone keypad, but it can be painful due to all of it's abilities. You really want to be on a keyboard logged into the thing to do any significant changes.

However, between the DuVoice, your Partner PBX and company management, you should be able to design a structure that accomodates the emergency situation that you describe. It probably won't do EVERYTHING you would like it to do. But like I always say, "Some things can be fixed with technology, others have to be fixed by managers."

I recommend downloading a DV4 manual from the DuVoice website and reading through it. Take a look at the mailbox configuration screens in particular and see what you think. For example: Notice that the mailbox number and the extension number are independent. What that means is that you could build a Mailbox Number 23 (with transfer only capability), whose Extension Number is "9,8531212". Get it? And yes, the Extension Number field will accept all kinds of characters and codes...anything you would need to dial to reach someone.

I've put in an awful lot of these boxes and think the world of them. DuVoice tech support is first rate as well.

Thank you so much for the info- I work for an AVAYA business partner so all we do is AVAYA- if they end up going with the DuVoice we will have to find someone to install it for them

Duvoice will preprogram it for you for a small price. All you will need to do is assign voicemail ports on the ACS and all the basic voicemail programming (#506,#507,#206,#321,#310.....), plug the ports into the ACS, and record the greetings. We just had this performed on a Definity.

When you buy the DuVoice, their is a PDF document base on the desktop that goes through the steps for integration with different products; the ACS is almost automatic. I sell a LOT of them on Partners - they are the best because they don't take up a slot (allowing for growth) the email integration is included at no additonal charge, and if/when you outgrow the Partner, it can be re-set to be reused on virtually any other phone system out there. I don't think anyone who works with Avaya stuff would have any problem programming it out of the box, and they provide tutorials on their web site as well.
