I am relatively new to the Photoshop product - and as I am sure others before me, find the software quite daunting to get my head around.
I am trying to scan negatives using a Minolta film scanner and use these images on my web site. Because I am using a scanner that DOES NOT have the ICE3 technology, every neg I scan gets some dust specs on the final image.
I know that I can overcome this problem using the Filter..Noise...Dust and Scratches - and set the relavent settings. My problem is that setting this filter to overcome the dust and scratches - actually softens the focus of the image.
Someone suggested that there is a way of using layers along with the Dust and Scratches filter in order to remove the dust specs and yet no to drastically impact on the overall focus of the image.
Can anyone offer any light into how this technique works - I would be very grateful.
Regards
Andy
