Select the field you want to conditionally suppress. There is the "Suppress" option under the Format option of the right mouse button menu. Select that, then click on the formula icon to the right of it. Enter the following formula in the formula editor box that pops up.<br>

Previous({database.field1}) = {database.field1}<br>

Another way of doing this is to right click on the field go to Format Field and then click on the Common Tab. Place a check in the "Suppress if Duplicate" option.
