When deploying 30 identical brand new computers with Microsoft XP, will Norton ghost work correctly? The computers will arrive with XP installed. About 10 applications need to be installed on each machine. Are there any known problems if one machine is set up with the 10 applications and Ghost is used to create the other 29?

We do just that. You will need to go in and change the computer names if you are going to network them but everything else has worked for us just fine.

if you take one computer and set it up and fully configure it then run sysprep 2.0 (download from MS)this will strip out all the computer specific information (SIDs,IP info, computer name info, etc.) then create a unattend.txt file to answer the installation questions and enter the product key you can deploy that image to all the workstations with ghost

misrosoft has some good docs on doing this

Another consideration is setting up a RIS server if you are in a windows 2000 enviroment.
