Does anyone know of a method to duplicate an AIT-3 tape?

By this I don't just mean restoring the data to hard-disk and re-writing it to tape.

This has to be an exact 1:1 copy of the tape. This I believe is no easy task as the tapes may very in length. For example if the source tape is 'shorter' (by a few cm) than the destination tape, then the data won't fit.

Any ideas?

Best regards
