Hi all,

I have a server running NT4 with 2 hard drives. Both of which are partitioned with a 2GB and the remianing 25GB. The 2 GB partitions are mirrored but the other partitions aren't. One of these drives seems to have development a problem, I am not sure which as yet. I have another drive I would like to try but I wanted to check what I need to do first regarding the mirror.

Do I simply break the mirror and xcopy or Ghost the main drive to my replacement drive? Is this safe? And is there any way of making this whole procedure safer?

Many thanks in advance,

Mark

that's what I would do.
Either way.. once you break the mirror.. if Disk0 is the broken disk .. DIsk1 will have your info .. and you'll know which disk is effected.

You'd have to change Win.ini to boot if disk0 is the bum drive... to point to disk1.

I don't even think you have to ghost or xcopy anything. Once the mirror is broken .. and you reboot .. you'll know which disk is effected. Alshrim
