I'm new to FMP5 and am having a hard time creating a script that will delete duplicate records... Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

A helpful FAQ relating to this is at the FileMaker website. Look under the Support area and you will find one of the three top FAQs describes an easy way to do it. By the way, the trick is to define what is actually a duplicate record. Easy if your database has a unique identifier, such as SSAN for each person, or a unique product code. It gets a little trickier when you are checking for duplicate names (how many John Smiths are there in your database. Are they all the same or do they differ by phone number, address, etc.? What do you do if an organization has several ways of denoting it, e.g., AARP and American Association for Retired People.) What I am getting at is that you need to be very careful to define what is a duplicate before you set a script that deletes dupes without human oversight. [sig][/sig]
