We have created a sales listing report by state using JrnlHdr, JrnlRow, Customer, and Chart. When running the report we had only one transaction that was duplicated.

We added all the obscure fields from JrnlHdr and JrnlRow to determine the cause. And none of the ones we added showed up with a different value between either of the two transactions.

With the reports that come with Peachtree - General Ledger - the transaction only shows up once. Audit trail showed three times.

Does anyone have any idea how we might be able to discern the difference between the two transactions?

I forget the field name, but one of the fields in Peachtree is transaction type. What you entered could be showing up in more then one transaction type. I.E. it could show up as both a quote and an invoice. This is because Peachtree like most of the low ends stores almost all it's transaction data in a single file. The higher prices packages usually store the data in specialized journal files, ie a sales order journal file and invoice file, a PO file etc. That lets them handle more data faster.

Not putting Peachtree down. I think it is the best in it's price range, though what I see of Microsoft Small Business may soon give it a run for it's money. But the back end data engine, even in Quantum still leves a lot to be desired. Course you pay thousands more for a really good back end.
